As we all know, evolution never stops... Regarding the fact that it affects not only the Kingdom of Animals but the Plants too, we invented a new expansion for Evolution board game named Plantarum.
It's hard to imagine life on Earth without plants... because plants not only produce oxygen but also provide food or shelter for many animals and insects. Therefore, plants as well as animals evolved to survive and to adapt to the environment. Some plants have grown spikes, some learned to survive at low temperatures and others became predators.
The main feature of the Plantarum expansion is that we got rid of dice, which means no more blind randomness. With an expansion the food base is determined by plants that appear, grow and fructify according to a specific algorithm. This feature allows you to predict and calculate the amount of available food.
Plants on the game field are common for every player; any player can affect the course of the evolution of plants that goes due to special plant traits. A player has a few options: for example, it is possible to adapt a plant only for a certain type of animal (e.g. to make a root vegetable plant for a burrowing animal); a player can also make a plant better for every participant of the game party or help a plant to survive by protecting it with special traits.
Now let us tell you more about the plants!
Beware of the Carnivorous plant because it can eat your animal in one bite! It can attack or counter-attack your animal if you try to steal some food from it. A Liana plant grows very fast and produces food for any animal. There is also a very interesting and useful trait that can be played on a plant: Spiky trait gives your animal a shelter that would save an animal from an attack of a predator. We carefully thought out all the details of different kingdoms of living organisms and added also a Fungus. The Fungus lives because it eats animal and plant remains… a lot more various plants you’ll find in the Plantarum expansion!
